Set in the early 1970’s, Sophie Simpleton lives with and loves her animals, both domestic and wild, on her mountain which overlooks the ocean.
Nearly nine years old, she is the ugly duckling, the cinder-covered Cinderella, and the underdog. Loved by a growing number of eclectic individuals, but in the eyes of many, Sophie is un-extraordinary.
Through a series of unfortunate events that occur to those who are her friends, and those who are her enemies, she surprises her critics by rising far above what they considered as un-extraordinary.

About P.G. James
P.G. James was born in Sydney and presently lives in his mountain chalet called Kookaburras Rest on Mount Tamborine. Overlooking the Gold Coast, and the tall giants which inhabit the pristine rainforest that backs on to his home, it is here in his writing studio and in mountain cafes that he creates his storylines. Having published a number of non fiction books with sales both in Australia and the U.K. he embarked upon writing fiction. It was in this pursuit that he uncovered Sophie Simpleton.
